SUSTAINABILITY
The Ecodome is "Triple-Sustainable" (In fact 6x Sustainable).
Principle Cradle to Cradle.
Sustainable 1:
The Ecodome is being build for 95% from used materials.
Sustainable 2:
The building will last long; also a kind of sustainability.
Sustainable 3:
Almost 100% of the used materials can be used again.
You can either directly re-use the materials, or recycle them.
Cradle to Cradle: ‘food’ for new products.
Besides these three kinds of sustainability the Ecodome is making use of the newest developments concerning power-induction and isolation.
Sustainable 4:
The Ecodome has the possibility to turn.
Thanks to this feature it is possible to ‘follow’ the sun with the largest glass-surface because of which you need less power for heating.
(This also gives you the possibility to turn away from wind or choose the view you want).
Sustainable 5:
Isolation is the main building-material. Therefor the Ecodome is extremely economical in the use of energy for heating.
Sustainable 6:
Because of energy-induction through the use of solar-units and wind-units a surplus of power will occur.
Because of this you don’t need to be connected to an energy-supplier.
This gives less pollution (depending on what kind of power is used by the supplier).
